Tesfahiwet is a DPhil candidate in Geophysics (Seismology) at the University of Oxford. He holds a BSc in Earth Sciences from the Eritrea Institute of Technology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Natural Science Education. His research interests include seismology, deep learning, geothermal imaging, and critical mineral exploration. He has over five years of experience as a research and teaching assistant at EIT.

Craig graduated from the University of Oxford with a first-class degree with distinction in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics. His specialisation is in High Energy Particle Theory and he wrote a dissertation on Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) and predicting the production cross-section of the Higgs at the LHC. He is currently studying for a PhD in Cosmology and Particle Theory at SNS in Italy.

Age Requirement: Check the age requirement at the start of each programme you plan to attend.

Academic Potential: Your academic achievements, goals, and potential will be assessed during the interview to make sure you are a good fit for our programmes.

English Language Requirement: We will assess your level of English proficiency, which you will have an opportunity to demonstrate during the interview process, in order to ensure you meet proficiency requirements before you attend a programme.

2. Fill out the online application form

Complete an Oxbridge Summer Scholars application form.

All students must submit information about your major and preferred intakes and streams, and Contact details for a parent or guardian. Check your inbox for the confirmation of receiving your application

3. Interview

You will be contacted by our Admissions Team via email for an interview. This conversation serves to understand your motivation for joining our programmes and assess your English proficiency. There's no need for extensive preparation — simply be ready to share a bit about yourself and your enthusiasm for being a part of our programmes.

4. Admission results

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Successful applicants will receive an Offer Letter by email. To confirm the place, a £1,000 deposit must be paid within 7 days of receiving the offer. The remaining programme fee (£5,550/£5,950) must be paid within 60 days of paying the deposit.

How do I know if Stream A is the right stream for me?

Stream A is designed for students with a strong interest in STEM subjects, including science, mathematics, physics, engineering, computer programming, and data analysis. If you enjoy problem-solving, experimenting, coding, or exploring scientific concepts, this stream will allow you to deepen your knowledge, develop practical skills, and prepare for further study in these fields.

Which subjects and topics are covered in Stream A?

Stream A combines four core modules: mathematics, physics, engineering, and computer science. Students explore topics such as quantum mechanics, vector calculus, pure mathematics, astrophysics, coding, and data analysis, among others, gaining a broad and in-depth understanding across STEM disciplines.

Can I study just one module in the stream?

No. The stream is designed to provide a comprehensive academic experience. Students engage with a wide range of subjects across all four modules, which ensures in-depth knowledge, interdisciplinary learning, and development of diverse skills tailored to their interests.

I was admitted to one stream, but would like to change. How can I do it?

Stream changes are possible before the programme starts, subject to availability. You should contact the admissions team promptly to discuss your options and confirm any necessary arrangements.
