How to apply for the scholarship

Check your email
After submitting your interest, you'll receive an automatic email with all the details about the application process. This includes the application requirements and a link to the full application form.

Complete your application
Fill out the full application form and submit your essay. While there’s no strict deadline, time is limited since the program begins in April. Don’t delay—secure your opportunity as soon as possible!

Application Review
Within 14 days of submitting your application, we will review your materials. If you are shortlisted, you will receive an email inviting you to the next stage: the interview.

Scholarship Award & Interview
Shortlisted candidates will participate in an interview where we’ll discuss your goals, aspirations, and suitability for the programme.

Scholarship Offer
If your interview is successful, you will receive an official offer letter detailing your awarded scholarship (£1,000, £2,000, or £3,000) and assigned stream. To confirm your spot, a £1,000 deposit must be paid within 7 days of receiving your offer.

Final payment
The remaining balance is due 30 days before the program starts. Mark your calendar and get ready for an amazing experience!

Confirm your spot
After a successful interview, you’ll receive an offer letter with your assigned stream and final fee after applying your scholarship. To confirm, pay a £1,000 deposit within 7 days to keep your scholarship.

Scholarship application requirements
Application Year Status:
Application year students (2025-2026): You must be in your application year, planning to apply to university in 2025 and begin studying in 2026.
Pre-Application year students (2026-2027): Alternatively, you can be in the year immediately before your application year, planning to apply in 2026 to begin studying in 2027.
University Goal:
You must intend to apply to a university in the United Kingdom.
Submit a well-crafted essay that meets the following requirements:
Topic
Why I want to study [your chosen subject(s)] at university and what makes me a strong candidate for this course?
Length: 500–700 words.
Font and Formatting: Arial, size 14.
File Format: PDF only.
Your essay should address the following:
Understanding of the course: Provide a brief explanation of what you believe your chosen course of study entails.
Motivation: Share what has inspired you to pursue this subject.
What makes you a strong candidate:
This essay is your opportunity to showcase both your passion and your preparedness for the path ahead, so give it your best effort!
Submit your most recent academic transcript, ensuring it meets the following requirements:
Language: The transcript must be in English.
If you are from a non-English-speaking country, please provide an official translation of your transcript into English.
This document will help us evaluate your academic performance and readiness for the program.

A two-week residential programme in the UK in April is available for students in their year of application to university. This programme combines the best of the Senior OSS programme together with individually tailored university application advice.
This programme is available only in April in order for you to kickstart your university application in good time for submission six months later.

The Oxbridge Summer Scholars (OSS) programme is designed for 16-19-year-old students who aspire to attend top universities in the UK or the US.The OSS Junior Programme (Be inspired!) is designed for students aged 13-15 who are fluent in English and academically ambitious.
Our tutoring on all programmes is delivered by experienced lecturers/tutors holding degrees and postgraduate qualifications from prestigious institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge, and the other G5 universities.
A stream is a broad academic area that combines related subjects. For example, Stream A "Science, Innovation and Technology" would encompass disciplines (modules) like Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering.
A module is a specific subject of study within a stream. It provides focused learning on a particular topic.
Making changes to your stream or module less than 60 days prior to the program start date will incur a rebooking fee of GBP200. Please note that if you change your course start date, the cancellation policy will apply to the original start date.
Check Eligibility: Ensure you will be between 16 and 19 years old at the start of the programme you have chosen to apply for, or between 13 and 15 at the start of the junior programme you are applying for. Your English language proficiency will be assessed during the interview process.
Fill out the Online Application Form: Visit our "application" page for detailed instructions and to start your application.
Submit Your Application: Once completed, submit your application form.
Await interview: You will receive an email with an interview date, or containing instructions as to how you can schedule your interview.
Await admission decision: You will normally be notified of the outcome of your application in the week following your interview.
Pay deposit: You will be asked to confirm acceptance and pay deposit within 7 days of receiving an offer of a place on a programme.
Oxbridge Summer Scholars does not provide visa assistance. All students are responsible for obtaining the necessary passport and visa for their chosen destination. However, once you have paid the fee in full we can provide a letter confirming your participation at OSS and your residence address during the programme.
We strongly recommend that you start the visa application process at least three months before your program start date. Please consult the official government website of your destination country for specific visa requirements and procedures.
Failure to comply with visa regulations and maintain required attendance can result in reporting to relevant authorities.
