Entrepreneurship Module in the Cambridge Summer School
Are entrepreneurs born or made? It is not possible to study entrepreneurship at top UK universities, perhaps because there is a belief that an entrepreneurial outlook is something that comes from within rather than being something that can be taught. Nevertheless, there is a great deal that can be learned about the challenge of being an entrepreneur, and the OSS Module in entrepreneurship, taught by a mix of academics and those with genuine entrepreneurial experience seeks to provide an understanding of both the wide range of entrepreneurial opportunities that exist and the challenges for those seeking to develop their own start-up companies, whether in the tech area, online or on the high street.

If You Need a Visa
Students who require a visa should apply for a Standard Visitor Visa (6 months), which is the appropriate visa type for attending our programme. OSS provides a Visa Letter to assist with the application process. This document confirms the student’s acceptance, programme details, accommodation, and other relevant information.
For first-time applicants, we recommend seeking assistance from a reputable visa agency in your country.

If You Need an ETA
Starting January 8, 2025, students from many visa-exempt countries must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before entering the UK. The ETA costs £10, is valid for two years, and can be obtained online or via the UK ETA app. Processing takes up to 3 working days, so be sure to apply in advance. Learn more: UK ETA Guide.
FAQ
It depends on your nationality. Some students will need a Standard Visitor Visa, while others may require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). We provide a Visa Letter to support your application, but we recommend checking the UK government website for specific requirements.
Students should have a good understanding of English and be able to communicate effectively in both academic and social settings. The programme is conducted entirely in English, so basic fluency in speaking and comprehension is required.
The fee covers tuition, accommodation, meals, and extracurricular activities, including cultural excursions and social events. Flights, visas, and personal expenses are not included in the cost.

By selecting Entrepreneurship as a core module in the Business, Economics and Entrepreneurship (BEE) stream, you'll gain a wide and clear perspective on the role of different types of entrepreneurial activity in business, helping you pinpoint the specific topics and interests you want to pursue in university.
Combined with the programme's Economics, Management, and Business modules, you'll develop a strong interdisciplinary foundation for your future academic success.
